UPDATED: $2M Bail Request for Woodridge Ex-Cop Denied
The bail for former Woodridge Police Officer Scott A. Webb, of Romeoville, remains at $250,000. His attorney said it was unlikely Webb would post bail.

The DuPage County State's Attorney's office filed a motion in an afternoon hearing Wednesday that bond be increased for Woodridge ex-cop Scott Webb.
“Based on Mr. Webb’s alleged previous actions, the State will be seeking a more substantial bond to ensure that Mr. Webb will indeed face the charges levied against him in court,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin said in a press release.

Assistant State’s Attorney Helen Kapas requested the bail for Scott A. Webb, 39, of Romeoville, be increased to $2M to prevent Webb from fleeing again Wednesday morning. That request was denied by Judge Michael Wolfe.
Judge Kathryn Creswell, who presided over the afternoon hearing, has scheduled a Nov. 3 hearing to discuss the matter. In the meantime, Webb will be held without bond.

What amount the DuPage County State's Attorney's office would like to increase the bond to was not released, according to Spokesperson Paul Darrah. That information will be released Nov. 3.

A request to increase the bail for a Woodridge ex-cop charged with $30,000 in theft from a police charity was denied in a bond hearing Wednesday morning.
Assistant State’s Attorney Helen Kapas requested the bail for Scott A. Webb, 39, of Romeoville, be increased to $2M to prevent Webb from fleeing again.
"It's the state's position that he would flee the jurisdiction and we would never see him again," Kapas said.
DuPage County Judge Michael Wolfe denied the state's request, keeping the bail for Webb at $250,000. Webb would need to post 10 percent of that to get out of jail.
Defense Attorney Jack Donahue said it was unlikely Webb would post bail. If he did, a GPS device would be outfitted for him. If he were to somehow detach the device and leave the jurisdiction, Wolfe said, Webb could be charged and sentenced without being able to appear in court to defend himself.
Webb is denied any connect with the , must surrender any weapons, firearms or ammunition and must not take any controlled substances other than prescribed by a doctor.

Webb is charged with taking $30,000 from Crawlin' for the Fallen fundraisers, a bar crawl he helped organize to benefit C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors). The organization benefits family members of police officers killed in the line of duty.
on two counts of theft and was sought on a $250,000 bail arrest warrant. Webb could face up to seven years in prison if convicted. He disappeared and never contacted his family.
Following a five-month search, in his home in Branson, MO, after police received a tip as to his whereabouts. He was transported to Illinois early this week.
