Recent Accomplishment: Jaida was the only seventh-grader to play on this year's conference champion Jefferson eighth grade girls basketball team. The team was undefeated in conference, and Jaida was one of the team's key players. She's also a member of the Junior National Honor Society and is in all gifted classes in the seventh grade. Jaida’s AAU basketball team placed 13th in the nation this past summer. Jaida also played on the Jefferson Jr. High JV volleyball team.

Key to Awesomeness: Jaida’s character makes her stand out in a crowd, she is very humble in accepting praise and she works hard to make sure that everyone around her feels welcomed. She works hard in school, she values her education and is able to balance both sport and academics well. Jaida has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and lives her life according to Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Jaida volunteers at By the Hand Club for kids in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, helping tutor the kids, serve dinner and participate in their after-school activities. Jaida continues to set high goals for herself with the hope of influencing others to do the same.
