Police Officer Receives Award of Exemplary Action

Jerry Symonds received the award for his role in resuscitating an unresponsive victim in February.

Officer Jerry Symonds was given an Award of Exemplary Action by the Thursday for his role in resuscitating an unresponsive victim.

On Feb. 12, the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District received a call for an unresponsive victim. Upon arrival, crews found Officer Symonds performing CPR.

Officer Symonds continued to provide assistance to the patient following the Fire Districts arrival and assisted them with the victim. The award recognizes the quick response, efficient use of CPR and concern for the victim shown by Officer Symonds at the emergency scene as greatly contributing to a positive outcome of the emergency situation.

Officer Symonds has been a member of the Police Department since December of 1989.
