Ochsner Health doubles operating room capacity at The Grove in Baton Rouge (wbrz.com) — Ochsner has just doubled the number of operating rooms at The Grove campus in Baton Rouge, aiming to cut wait times and expand surgical options close to home. With 20 new surgeons and added radiologists, this multimillion-dollar project is part of a $50 million investment in local facilities, including pediatric and women's care between the Mall of Louisiana and Siegen Lane.

Baton Rouge residents raise noise concerns over Amazon drone deliveries at community meeting (wafb.com) — Amazon's Prime Air drones are drawing serious noise complaints from Broadmoor and Sherwood residents in Baton Rouge, prompting a community meeting with city officials, police, the FAA, and Amazon. Neighbors say low-flying drones from the Cortana facility disrupt parks, schoolyards, and daily life, and they're pressing for higher flight paths or other changes as the service expands locally.
   

4. LSU designated distinguished military college by Department of War (wafb.com) — Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge has been named a distinguished military college, giving its ROTC cadets priority for active-duty officer commissions. Federal officials say the new partnership could bring more scholarships and resources, while LSU leaders highlight the university's long military history and the potential benefits for local students pursuing military careers.

'Please, don't wait': With weeks left to live, Baton Rouge woman shares breast cancer story to help save others (wafb.com) — Baton Rouge native Whitney Brooks, 34, is spending what may be her final weeks urging local women not to ignore possible signs of breast cancer. After delaying care for a lump she found at 25, her disease advanced to stage four, and she now shares her story from hospice to stress early checks, body awareness, and overcoming fear to seek medical help.
