EBRCOA fires two employees, seeks prosecution in Meals on Wheels case (wafb.com) — The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging in Baton Rouge has fired two Meals on Wheels employees after 17 meal boxes for homebound seniors were allegedly left to spoil and then discarded. The agency has reported the case to Baton Rouge Police, plans to seek prosecution and restitution, and says all affected seniors will receive replacement meals without service interruption. Leaders stress that taxpayer-supported resources will be closely accounted for.
   

2. LSU student's Title IX case prompts state lawmaker to call for review of process (wafb.com) — An LSU student in Baton Rouge is pushing state lawmakers to reexamine how universities handle Title IX sexual misconduct findings after her case against a football player left her unsure about criminal options. A Baton Rouge state representative now wants a legislative review of what happens after campus proceedings, while the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office has opened a criminal investigation. LSU says it followed policy and is cooperating with law enforcement.
   

3. Church says they paid contractor $100k for project now under identity theft investigation (wafb.com) — A Baton Rouge church says it paid a member about $100,000 for a building expansion that remains largely unfinished, and police are now investigating him for alleged identity theft involving a contractor's license. Pastor Edward Hayes and the congregation hope to recover their funds, as state contractor records reportedly show the man is not licensed and key work like HVAC replacement is still incomplete.
