Baton Rouge man arrested, charged with five counts of attempted murder (louisianafirstnews.com) — A Baton Rouge man has been arrested after police say multiple shots were fired into an occupied home on Lexington Drive, injuring one person and endangering five people inside. Detectives used surveillance video, witness identifications, and cell phone records to link two suspects to the March 22 shooting, leading to the arrest of Alexander Allen Jr. on five attempted murder counts and related charges.

Area emergency shelter helping families rebuild (wafb.com) — Baton Rouge's Sweet Dreams Shelter, run by St. Vincent de Paul, is currently the only local shelter keeping entire families together in private rooms while they recover from crises like fires or sudden homelessness.
