New court documents in BRAVE Cave case argue over request to delay trial (wbrz.com) — A federal civil-rights lawsuit over alleged abuse in Baton Rouge Police's so‑called BRAVE Cave is facing a scheduling fight, as the plaintiff's lead attorney seeks to push the trial back one week due to another case. City and police attorneys oppose the delay, arguing the date has already shifted twice and other lawyers for Jeremy Lee could proceed. A judge has not yet ruled on the request.
   

2. Baton Rouge man arrested, charged with five counts of attempted murder (louisianafirstnews.com) — A Baton Rouge man has been arrested after police say multiple shots were fired into an occupied home on Lexington Drive, injuring one person and endangering five people inside. Detectives used surveillance video, witness identifications, and cell phone records to link two suspects to the March 22 shooting, leading to the arrest of Alexander Allen Jr. on five attempted murder counts and related charges.
   

3. Area emergency shelter helping families rebuild (wafb.com) — Baton Rouge's Sweet Dreams Shelter, run by St. Vincent de Paul, is currently the only local shelter keeping entire families together in private rooms while they recover from crises like fires or sudden homelessness. Staff provide meals, laundry, case management, and help with jobs and housing, and they're asking residents for donations of money and time to keep these services going.
   

4. Former East Baton Rouge corrections officer pleads guilty in inmate abuse case (louisianafirstnews.com) — A former East Baton Rouge Parish corrections officer in Baton Rouge has pleaded guilty to malfeasance in office in a case involving alleged abuse of inmates. He received a suspended five-year hard labor sentence, three years of supervised probation with treatment and behavior requirements, financial penalties, and loss of his POST certification, while related battery charges were dismissed.
