The driver who collided with pedestrians in Annapolis over the weekend had lost control of his car after a tire blew out, police told Patch.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — The driver whose car veered off the roadway and hit four pedestrians over the weekend in downtown Annapolis had lost control of his car, police said.
Kortlan Jackson, a spokesperson for the Annapolis Police Department, told Patch that the driver had informed officers that a tire blowout was what caused him to "jump the curb" at the same time that four adults were walking on the sidewalk.
Annapolis Police reported Saturday that the driver had been on the northbound lanes of Compromise Street, near St. Mary's Street, when he veered off the road and hit the four pedestrians.
