BALTIMORE, MD — Two people were reportedly taken into custody midday Friday related to a Baltimore police sergeant who was shot. The arrests occurred in Lansdowne, where authorities spotted a vehicle near Annapolis Road similar to one that may have been involved in the shooting.
Although authorities tried to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle did not pull over, The Baltimore Sun reported, adding that two people were ultimately taken into custody.
Multiple news outlets, including WJZ, reported it was not confirmed the arrests were connected to the police sergeant who was shot.

The Lansdowne branch of the Baltimore County Public Library reported it was on lockdown before 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. It reopened, resuming normal operations by 1:40 p.m., officials said.
While the vehicle and individuals were ultimately located in Lansdowne, the car first came onto the radar of police in Baltimore City. An officer in the southern district saw a vehicle that looked similar to the one tied to the officer shooting around 11:15 a.m. Friday and tried to stop it, but the vehicle did not pull over, police said in a statement provided to multiple news outlets, including Fox 45, which was broadcasting live from the scene in Lansdowne.

Authorities could not confirm these were suspects in the shooting of Sgt. Isaac Carrington.
Carrington, 43, was talking with a neighbor on his front lawn in the 5600 block of Summerfield Avenue before 3:30 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle believed to be an Acura pulled up, at least one man wearing a face mask got out and the man pointed a gun at them, demanding their valuables, police said. The neighbor threw his belongings down and ran, and Carrington ran the opposite direction, at which point the gunman chased and shot the off-duty officer multiple times.
The getaway driver took off with the gunman north on Summerfield Road, then west on Todd Avenue.
Carrington, who underwent surgery after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, is currently on life support at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police Thursday night.
He was going into another surgery Friday, The Baltimore Sun reported.
