5-Year-Old Girl Shot, Injured In Crossfire: Police
Police said that the girl shot in Baltimore Monday was taken into surgery for treatment.

BALTIMORE, MD — A 5-year-old girl was shot and injured in west Baltimore Monday night, police said. She was caught in the middle of a shootout, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
The shooting occurred exactly four months after 7-year-old Taylor Hayes died following a shooting in west Baltimore as she was in the backseat of a vehicle.
The victim was the younger sister of Hayes, according to ABC 2 News.

Police said the 5-year-old girl was shot in the groin at 6:21 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, around the same time that citizens in the area heard several gunshots.
Investigators allege she was caught in the crossfire in the 1000 block of McKean Avenue, as the shooters fired from an unidentified vehicle and on foot.

A citizen who looked outside and saw the girl suffering from a gunshot wound on the sidewalk went out, picked her up and rushed her to an area hospital, according to police.
Officials said the child was alert and able to talk with doctors at the hospital, where she was immediately taken into surgery.
