If you're planning to head to the Maryland State Fair in the next two weeks, here's some good news — a new report says you'll be getting one of the best bargains in the country. The fair opened Aug. 23 and runs through Sept. 3 in Timonium.

Police Find Pickup Used In Deadly Abduction: Reports

Baltimore police said Thursday that they have found the pickup truck in which a woman was abducted by two men in broad daylight on Tuesday, according to media reports. The body of Tiffany Jones, 29, was found the next morning in a burned-out home in south Baltimore.

Harris Teeter Will Phase Out Plastic Bags

You'll no longer hear "paper or plastic" at the Harris Teeter stores in Maryland. Kroger, which owns major U.S. grocery stores including Harris Teeter, Fred Meyer and Ralphs, said Thursday the national grocery chain is phasing out single-use plastic bags that more often than not end up in the trash, rather than the recycling bin.

Construction Worker Killed In Accident At School

A fatal construction accident occurred at a prep school in Montgomery County Thursday morning, authorities said. The accident occurred at the Heights School, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Daniel Ogren said.
