Maryland Delegate Gets 2 Days In Jail For Impaired Driving
A Maryland lawmaker was sentenced to two days in jail for driving while impaired in Ocean City last summer. Due to the man's traffic history, prosecutors pushed for a longer sentence but the alleged conduct of a police officer reportedly caused a judge to knock off some of the delegate's time behind bars.
Ice Dancing Champions Honored by Montgomery County Council
Rockville residents Rachel and Michael Parsons recently became the first brother and sister pair to win the ice dancing gold medal in the International World Junior Figure Skating Competition in Taiwan. The duo said their next goal is to qualify for the U.S. National Championships, and they ultimately hope to represent the U.S. in the Winter Olympics.

Maryland Lottery Searches For $50K Silver Spring Area Winner
The mystery player won the $50,000 top prize in Friday night's drawing. The winner has 182 days to claim the prize. Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place.
Best Maryland High Schools 2017: U.S. News
Maryland came in first in the nation in the U.S. News and World Report rankings of America's best high schools. That distinction was attributed to students' college preparedness, based on Advanced Placement participation, graduation rates and state test scores, according to U.S. News.
