Deputies responding to a report of a person shot at 3:19 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, found Joshua Dwayne Crouse, 40, of Joppa, lying on his back in the street in the 1800 block of Grempler Way, according to charging documents. He had suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Despite life-saving efforts, Crouse was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:50 a.m.

Investigators determined Crouse had met Martin earlier at the Shell station at 1855 Pulaski Highway and arranged to buy $60 worth of drugs from him on Grempler Way.
When Crouse arrived, the teen approached him with a firearm and tried to rob him of the $60, according to charging documents. Crouse was shot once in the upper torso, officials said.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect, who they said had been at the Shell station before the shooting. Investigators obtained security camera footage from the Shell station that clearly showed the suspect who had been described by the eyewitnesses.
When images of the suspect were released internally in the sheriff's office, Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said a school resource officer quickly identified him as Martin, and authorities were able to get a warrant for his arrest.
A warrant was issued for Martin's arrest Nov. 2, court records show.
He was taken into custody without incident Wednesday, Feb. 12, according to the sheriff's office, which said its personnel arrested him in Baltimore with assistance from allied agencies.
Martin is at the Harford County Detention Center, where he is being held without bail. He has a bail review set for 1:30 p.m. Friday in Harford County District Court.
