Harford County Delays On January 17 2018
Due to weather, Aberdeen Proving Ground is opening late on Wednesday, Jan. 17. So are schools and some government offices.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Due to inclement weather, several institutions in Harford County have announced schedule changes for Wednesday, Jan. 17. The region was under a winter weather advisory for snow, and transportation officials advised using caution on roads, which may be slippery.
Aberdeen Proving Ground employees may arrive up to two hours late to work on Wednesday, Jan. 17. The commander at the proving ground made the announcement Tuesday, citing the weather forecast. Child care will open at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). Other activities will begin on a two-hour delay. Mission-essential personnel should report as scheduled or communicate with their supervisors, according to APG.
Harford County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Code blue employees should report at 11 a.m. All after-school and evening activities in Harford County Public Schools are canceled.

Harford Community College and Towson University in Northeastern Maryland will open at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Call 443-412-2322 for more details.
The town of Bel Air government offices will open as scheduled. Liberal leave is in effect for non-essential employees on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Havre de Grace City Hall will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Liberal leave is in effect for non-emergency employees. Essential personnel report as scheduled.

Harford County is under a winter weather advisory from Tuesday through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service is calling for snow and slippery roads. The winter weather advisory expires at 7 a.m. Wednesday in north-central Maryland.
Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) officials say they are treating roads, parking lots and sidewalks to prepare.
Several school systems have announced delays on Wednesday, Jan. 17:
- Anne Arundel County
- Baltimore City
- Baltimore County
- Carroll County
- Cecil County
- Harford County
- Howard County
- Kent County
- Montgomery County
- PG County

The safety of our workforce is paramount, and due to the current winter weather conditions that are forecasted for tomorrow morning, the Aberdeen Proving Ground Senior Commander has authorized an arrival delay of up to two hours for Wednesday, 17 January 2018. The installation continues to treat roadways, parking lots, and sidewalks to ensure a safe arrival.
Mission-essential personnel should report as scheduled, or contact their supervisors for additional instructions regarding mission-essential status.
All APG activities will open two hours later than normal operating hours. The Child Development Centers and Youth Centers will be open at 0800 tomorrow.
APG employees are encouraged to confirm with supervisors regarding unscheduled leave, unscheduled telework, and other instructions.
Contractor personnel must consult with their COR and/or company management for policies and procedures as a result of the delayed opening of APG on 17 January 2018.
