14 Bethesda, Chevy Chase Schools Make Niche.com's Top 100 List

BETHESDA, MD — Using a combination of surveys and U.S. Department of Education data, Niche.com ranked the best public elementary schools in the country and across the state. Montgomery County Public Schools dominated Maryland's 2017 list, accounting for 65 schools out of the top 100. Eleven of these schools are in Bethesda, and three are in Chevy Chase.

Niche.com, a website that uses data science to provide information on the best neighborhoods and schools, releases the list annually.

So which public elementary schools are tops? According to Niche.com, Carl Sandburg Learning Center in Rockville is the best elementary school in the state, followed by Clemens Crossing Elementary School in Columbia and Northfield Elementary School in Ellicott City.

Eleven schools in Rockville made the list, as well as 11 schools in Bethesda. Nine Silver Spring schools made the list; eight schools in Gaithersburg; six in Germantown; four in Potomac; three in Chevy Chase; three in Olney; two in Damascus; two in Clarksburg; two in Kensington; two in North Potomac; one in Takoma Park and one in Sandy Spring.

Howard county also had strong showings. In fact, the only other school district to crack the top 60 was Frederick County (No. 56).
