Bethesda Church to Hold Interfaith Service Honoring Dr. King
Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church will host an interfaith service Sunday to commemorate the work of Martin Luther King Jr.
The Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church will host an interfaith service to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event will take place on Sunday, January 17.
Members of Montgomery County’s Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Unitarian Universalist communities will come together for prayer, reflection, singing and dancing.

The Rev. Abhi Janamanchi is the senior minister at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church.
“We want to highlight the multicultural and pluralistic society we are a part of in the U.S. and especially here in Montgomery County. Dr. King believed that the various faith traditions were essentially united in their belief about ultimate reality and also in their conceptions of love which he called the “supreme unifying principle of life,” Janamanchi said.

The service will start at 3 p.m. and take place at 9601 Cedar Lane in Bethesda. Refreshments will be served shortly after the event.
