Burglars Awaken Sleeping Resident at Gunpoint: Police

A Silver Spring man reported two men -- both carrying guns -- entered his house and demanded cash. A $10K reward is offered for tips.

Sketches have been released of two men suspected of waking up a sleeping Silver Spring man and robbing him at gunpoint.

The break-in was reported just after 8:30 a.m. Aug. 3 by a resident in the 10200 block of Colesville Road in the Woodmoor area of Silver Spring. On Thursday, Montgomery County Police released composite sketches of the suspects and appealed to the public to help identify the men.

Authorities say the suspects entered the victim’s home through an unlocked, rear basement door and found the victim asleep in a bedroom. The first awakened the victim and pointed a weapon at his head while demanding money. The second suspect, also armed with a weapon, stood near the victim’s bedroom door. The first suspect allegedly took cash and both suspects fled.
