Fourth Potomac Business Burglary Reported; New Photos Released

A Potomac Sunoco station was broken into for the third time this month; police have new surveillance photos of a suspect.

After a burglary spree at the beginning of the month, the same suspect hit a fourth Potomac business over the weekend, according to Montgomery County Police.

The Sunoco gas station at 11355 Seven Locks Road was burglarized just before 3 a.m. on Sept. 17, police say, when the suspect broke the front window to steal cigarettes.

As seen in surveillance photos released Monday, the suspect concealed his face. A similarly hidden suspect hit the same gas station Sept. 4 and 5, and likely also broke into Potomac Express Food and Deli that weekend, authorities say.

Montgomery County Police say the first break-in happened about Sept. 4 at the Sunoco gas station in the rear of the Cabin John Shopping Center, 11355 Seven Locks Road. A suspect broke the glass out of the door and attempted to force open the ATM inside the store. Nothing of value was taken in the burglary.

The next night, a suspect broke through the glass in the Sunoco station’s door -- which had been replaced from the previous night’s burglary. Once inside the suspect dropped the cash register on the floor to force it open, and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

In surveillance photos police released, the suspect appeared to conceal his head and face with a hood or T-shirt.

Also on Sept. 5, police responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the Potomac Express Food and Deli, 12960 Travilah Road. As in the previous burglaries, the glass door was broken and a suspect tried to force open the ATM, but was unsuccessful. No cash was taken from the register.
