Metro Service on Columbus Day 2016: What Bethesda Commute Will Be Like
Metro will make some adjustments to both its rail and bus service for the federal holiday.
BETHESDA, MD — The Metro rail system will be operating on a special Columbus Day schedule this Monday, Oct. 10, for the federal holiday, WMATA announced, so be prepared if you plan to head into work anyway as many people will be.
The rail system will open at 5 a.m. and close at midnight on Monday, Oct. 10, and trains will operate at Saturday service intervals, which means that they will run every 6 to 12 minutes during daytime hours, according to a WMATA statement.
Parking at Metro-owned lots and garages will be free, and off-peak Metro fares will be in effect all day long.
Rush+ service between Franconia-Springfield and Greenbelt will not be available, and single-tracking will continue between Vienna and West Falls Church stations as part of the SafeTrack plan.

Buses will operate on a Saturday supplemental schedule. Paratransit service will operate on a regular schedule, but subscription trips will be canceled.
Metro's customer information line, lost and found and customer relations call centers will all be closed.
