MD Woman Accused Of Biting VA Police Officer, Fairgrounds Staffer (patch.com) — A 21-year-old Bethesda woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she bit a fairgrounds worker and a Prince William County police officer during a confrontation at the Manassas fairgrounds. Police reported she appeared intoxicated and aggressive before being taken into custody, and she is now held on secured bond with a court date pending.
   

2. 8 People Displaced After Bethesda Apartment Fire: MCFRS (patch.com) — A weekend bedroom fire at The Edge Apartments on Edgemoor Lane in downtown Bethesda displaced eight residents from four units, though sprinklers quickly contained the blaze and no injuries were reported. Fire and water damage forced the residents out while investigators work to determine the cause and assess the extent of the losses.
   

3. MCDOT moves forward on new bike infrastructure in Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Wheaton (mymcmedia.org) — Montgomery County is expanding bike infrastructure that directly affects Bethesda riders, including work on the Capital Crescent Trail connection and the upcoming MacArthur Boulevard Bikeway. 4. 2 'temporary' changes made to help with the Metro Red Line shutdown could become permanent (wjla.com) — If you rely on the Red Line at Bethesda or Medical Center, the temporary bus-only lanes on Rockville Pike and the new Ride On Glenmont Express shuttle may stick around after the shutdown ends Sunday. State and county officials are weighing whether to keep the Route 355 bus lanes and extend the shuttle as a trial, and they're asking riders for feedback now.

Antisemitic Incidents Persist in K-12 Schools Despite College Campus Decline (cbn.com) — Bethesda families will note that Walt Whitman High School is cited as one example in a nationwide look at antisemitic incidents that remain stubbornly high in K–12 schools, even as college cases decline. The report details threats alleged during a Whitman debate trip, broader federal investigations, and new state and district policies aimed at protecting Jewish students while balancing free speech concerns.
