Police Investigate Hate Crime in Chevy Chase
A racial epithet was spray-painted on a garage door over the weekend, say Montgomery County Police.

A racial epithet that was spray painted on a Chevy Chase home’s garage door is being investigated as a possible hate crime, according to Montgomery County Police.
On Monday morning, a neighbor noticed the racial wording painted on the victim’s garage door in the 3300 block of Glenmoor Drive in Chevy Chase. Police say the neighbor notified the victim and helped remove the spray paint.

Authorities say the vandalism occurred between 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18 and 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19.
Police have not received additional reports of vandalism or malicious destruction from residents in the neighborhood.
