Police to Target Pedestrian Safety on Roads Wednesday
Drivers and pedestrians who flout traffic laws will be cited. The focus will be Route 355 and Georgia Avenue.

Following recent pedestrian accidents in the county – a Silver Spring teen hit Monday, Rockville and Bethesda pedestrians killed on the same day two weeks ago – Montgomery County Police are focusing on pedestrian safety.
The department said Tuesday that its officers will target locations with marked crosswalks and areas that have been identified as sites of more pedestrian collisions.
On Wednesday, police will focus their efforts on Route 355 from Germantown to Bethesda and Georgia Avenue from Connecticut Avenue to University Boulevard. Officers will issue citations to drivers and pedestrians who violate the law.
