Special Olympics Get Boost From Local Police
Officers from variety of departments wait on Red Robin customers to raise funds.

On its Facebook page on Tuesday, the Montgomery County Police Department thanked everyone who came out to the #TipACop event on Saturday at the Red Robin restaurant in Germantown.
As part of the national Tip-A-Cop event, police officers collected tips and helped serve restaurant guests to raise funds for Special Olympics Maryland. Saturday’s event raised about $4,400, according to the MCPD’s post on Facebook. Along with county officers, the event involved officers from the police departments of Chevy Chase Village, Gaithersburg, Rockville and Takoma Park.

Others who participated included the Montgomery County Police Explorers and officers from the Maryland-National Capital Park Police-Montgomery County Division.
