WEATHER WARNING: More Snow on Way for Bethesda

Snow is in the forecast Monday and Tuesday for Montgomery County, according to National Weather Service.

Montgomery County is under a winter storm warning from 6 p.m. Monday to noon Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service,

Between 6 and 10 inches of snow may fall between Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to the warning.

The heaviest snow will be Monday night, the weather service reported.

In Rockville, a snow emergency due to the incoming storm means vehicles must be removed from city streets or moved to the even-numbered side of the street by 6 p.m. Monday.

Montgomery County Public Schools are closed Monday for Presidents’ Day, which is a federal holiday.

Temperatures will be in the teens and low 20s, according to the weather service.

A winter storm warning means heavy snow is anticipated or occurring, and travel conditions will be difficult. Roads will become snow-covered and slippery, and visibility may be limited to less than a half mile.

During the warning period, the weather service says people should only travel in an emergency and should be sure to have a flashlight, blanket, food and water in their vehicles.

The following areas are included under this winter storm warning:

  • Howard County
  • Anne Arundel County
  • Prince George’s County
  • Montgomery County
  • District of Columbia
  • Parts of northern and central Virginia
  • Part of West Virginia
