6 Police Officers Indicted On Fraud Charges In Maryland: Report
Six Maryland police officers were indicted on charges of conspiring to commit fraud, Fox 45 News reported.

MARYLAND — A grand jury indicted six Maryland police officers on federal charges of conspiring to commit fraud, Fox 45 News reported Wednesday. Journalist Don Parker identified the suspects as:
- 52-year-old Conrad Darwin D’Haiti of La Plata and the Maryland-National Capital Park Police
- 37-year-old Philip James Dupree of Pikesville and the Fairmount Heights Police Department
- 33-year-old Mark Ross Johnson Jr. of Camp Springs and the Prince George's County Police Department
- 33-year-old Michael Anthony Owen Jr. of Accokeek and the PGPD
- 27-year-old Jaron Earl Taylor of Fort Washington and the Anne Arundel County Police Department
- 34-year-old Candace Danielle Tyler of District Heights and the PGPD
The grand jury accused the group of conspiring to defraud financial institutions and insurance companies by submitting false loss claims, the news outlet noted. The indictment also alleged the group planned to submit fake police reports to back their claims, Parker added.
The PGPD previously announced that one of the suspects, Owen, was charged with second-degree murder in a separate case. Owen is accused of fatally shooting William Howard Green in January 2020 when he was already handcuffed, the agency explained.
