'Friday The 13th' Celebrates 40th Anniversary At Columbia Theater
Hockey mask-wearing Jason Voorhees is back on the big screen to taunt moviegoers at a 40th birthday commemoration of "Friday the 13th."
COLUMBIA, MD — Jason Voorhees is back again to haunt Camp Crystal Lake guests this Halloween in time for "Friday the 13th's" 40th anniversary. AMC Columbia Mall 14 will be showing the classic movie restored and remastered Oct. 4, Oct. 6 and Oct. 7.
As a child at camp, Jason Voorhees drowned and a series of suspicious and ghastly homicides happened afterward. People believed the camp was cursed, and it was abandoned. In the original movie, a new owner and young counselors are ready to reopen the camp, only to discover that the myth is true and their fate is about to reach a tragic end. Jason, wearing a hockey-mask, stalks them and jumpstarts the first of many "Friday the 13th" movies.
Moviegoers not only will watch this legendary Halloween thriller, but also will be treated to a special featurette, Secrets Galore Behind the Gore. Join revolutionary special-effects and makeup artist Tom Savini for a look at some of the groundbreaking gory great moments in the original "Friday the 13th."
