Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. The young ladies on the Crofton Field Hockey teams wrapped up another successful season.   The league fielded 14 competitive teams for more than 200 girls in four age groups, according to Crofton Field Hockey Commissioner Karen Maher Davis via email.  "The county hosts playoffs for potential County Champions for the junior (7th and 8th) and middie (5th and 6th) grade levels," Davis said in the email. "This year, two of Crofton's teams successfully reached the playoffs and won!" Commissioner Davis credits the Crofton coaching staff and teamwork for the victories. "The coaches did a phenomenal job with their teams and the girls put in a lot of effort to earn this reward," Davis added.
