Man Driving Illegal Dirt Bike on Road Dies from Crash

Anne Arundel County Police say an illegal dirt bike being ridden late at night was the cause of a fatal accident involving its driver.

A Glen Burnie man who police say was driving a dirt bike without a light Sunday night has died from injuries he suffered in the crash, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

The accident happened about 11:15 p.m. at Crain Highway North and Jackson Avenue Northwest in the Glen Burnie area. The Yamaha YZ dirt bike was southbound on Crain Highway approaching Jackson Avenue NW when a Lexus sedan was turning left from Crain Highway onto Jackson Ave. Police say Savoy was driving the dirt bike without any lights.

The driver of the Lexus, Vincent Cornelius Gordon III, 23, of Annapolis, did not see the dirt bike and turned in front of the vehicle, police say, which struck the passenger side of the Lexus.

The driver of the Lexus suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police say error by Savoy caused the fatal collision. The dirt bike is not unregistered and Savoy was not licensed.
