One Mile Challenge to Benefit Special Olympics
There's still time to sign up for the Oct. 4 One Mile Challenge hosted by the Annapolis Police Department.

The Annapolis City Police Department will host the fifth annual One Mile Challenge to Benefit Special Olympics Maryland starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
The One Mile Challenge will be in a wave format, which will allow all levels of runners and walkers to participate. There will also be a Team Competition category, allowing friendly competitions between police and firefighters, health clubs, running shops, restaurants and local businesses.

This is a mostly flat and downhill course through the Annapolis Historic District. It begins at City Dock, turning on Randall and King George Streets, then onto College Avenue and Church Circle, downMain Street and back to the finish line at City Dock.
Roads will be closed as runners and walkers move through the course. Pets and strollers are encouraged to participate in the Challenge.

Visit the website at www.annapolis1mile.com to register, sponsor a runner or learn more about the event. You can also register the day of the event at Annapolis City Dock from 8 to 9 a.m. with the first wave of runners starting at 9 a.m. An awards ceremony will take place at the completion of the race.
