Police Make Drug Arrests in Edgewater and Lothian

Anne Arundel County Police make two separate drug arrests last week. Confiscated items include pills, crack cocaine, illicit mushrooms, marijuana, paraphernalia, a car, a motorcycle, guns and cash.

Update (June 20, 4 p.m.) - Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy clarified in an email to Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch that none of the suspects were present at the Edgewater residence when it was searched last Thursday.

Police are currently searching for Gary Melvin Evans and William Hunter Hardesty due to the search of the residence (see original story, below) in the 1600 block of Havre De Grace Drive. That search was conducted based on a citizen tip.

According to the email, about an hour before the search, officers stopped a car on Central Avenue near Beard's Point Road in an unrelated incident. During the stop, police found a small amount of illicit drugs.

Hardesty and Katrina Buss, 19, of Gambrills, the occupants of the vehicle, were arrested for possession.

Hardesty made bail and was released from Jennifer Road Detention Center. He is at large. An arrest warrant has been issued for Hardesty and southern district detectives are actively attempting to locate him.

A criminal summons has been issued for Evans.

Original item - On Thursday and Friday, Anne Arundel County Police Southern District P.A.C.T. unit detectives concluded investigations into drug activity at homes in Edgewater and Lothian. According to county police spokesman Justin Mulcahy, the investigations resulted in arrests or arrest warrants at both locations.

At 10:50 p.m. on June 16, detectives executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Havre De Grace Drive, near Oakwood Road in Woodland Beach in Edgwater. There detectives found and took into evidence what they suspected to be 300 Oxycodone pills, 6.6 grams of marijuana and 7.6 grams of Psilocybin hallucinogenic mushrooms.

In addition, the police confiscated six rifles, drug paraphernalia, an estimated $18,000 in cash, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala and a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle.

Police issued an arrest warrant for William Hunter Hardesty, 23, of the residence. Police issued a criminal summons for Gary Melvin Evans, 20. Both are charged with possession, while Hardesty is also wanted for intent to distribute.

In a separate incident in Lothian, detectives executed a search warrant at 11:10 p.m. on June 17 in the first block of D Street. There, detectives seized approximately 19 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 18 suspected Oxycodone pills with an estimated street value of $2,630. Over $2,000 in cash and additional drug paraphernalia was also seized.

Arrested at the scene for possession were Ronald Gregory Parker, 49, of the residence, Richard Sheil Kulle, 47, also of the residence, and William Henry Holesapple, 43, of the 200 block of B Street in Lothian. Parker was also charged with intent to distribute.
