Arundel Lodge

Arundel Lodge, Inc. partners with individuals and families to improve behavioral health through recovery-oriented services. Arundel Lodge has a Residential Rehabilitation and Day Program to provide specialized housing and behavioral health services. Arundel Lodge is seeking volunteers on Thanksgiving Day to prepare and serve a dinner to our individuals in the residential program. The food will be provided. In addition, we provide an array of opportunities for all volunteers to use their talents in work with our community. Days End Farm Horse Rescue

Days End Farm Horse Rescue, Inc., is a 501(c)(3), volunteer-based, animal welfare organization established in 1989 to ensure quality care and treatment of horses through intervention, education and outreach. Farm volunteers are needed to assist in feeding, grooming & caring for the horses, mucking stalls & paddocks and doing general barn chores and clean-up. Heartland Hospice Services

Heartland Hospice provides hospice care to patients with limited life expectancy as well as support to their caregivers. Volunteers, age 18 and up with a driver’s license, are needed as Friendly Visitors to visit patients in their home or nursing home, as Vigil Volunteers to sit with patients without immediate family who are nearing death, as Bereavement Volunteers to call on families of those recently deceased. Clerical and Special Project Volunteers are also needed to help with mailings, office projects, and to create special gifts for patients. State’s Attorneys Office

Hope For All

Hope For All. is an all-volunteer non-profit Christian ministry serving families in need in the north AA County, Baltimore City areas and also the Appalachian region by collecting and distributing donated school supplies, household goods and furniture, and clothing. There is a great need for volunteers at Warehouse 146 which is normally open every Tues.–Thurs. from 9:30 am–3:00 pm for volunteers to sort clothes, for cleaning, helping in the yard sale area, or anything else that needs to get done. Call the warehouse at 410-766-0372before coming. There is also a pressing need for donations of select furniture, household and linen items, clothing, and cleaning & toiletry items. Old Mill High School Mock Interviews, Nov. 6 & 7, 2014

Volunteers are needed throughout the day on Nov. 6-7, 12014 to conduct 15 minute Mock Interviews and provide students with verbal and written feedback on both their resume and interview at Old Mill High School, 600 Patriot Ln, Millersville, MD 21108. Volunteer for a shift or two or stay the whole day. Those interested in something less structured are also being sought to engage in career conversations with students and also to provide help with writing resumes. Sample questions and an evaluation sheet for the Mock Interviews and a sample format to help guide the Career Conversations will be provided prior to the event. We Care and Friends

We Care and Friends is a grass-roots organization that depends on volunteers to help where needed. If you are interested in volunteering during one of our fundraisers, mentoring youth, at summer camp, in the office, during Thanksgiving or the Christmas Toy Drive, please contact us. We have a current need for adult volunteer, 3 days per week (Tue., Wed., and Fri.) from 1-5 pm to help in the office. The volunteer needs to have familiarity with general bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and will also be expected to answer phones and keep an organizational calendar. YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County focuses on providing crisis intervention services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This is accomplished through the domestic violence safe house shelter, a 24-hour crisis phone line, counseling services, an Abuser Intervention Program, hospital accompaniment for victims of sexual assault, legal representation of victims who are obtaining peace and protective orders, and after school tutoring and mentoring programs.
