Two Dead In House Fire The Day Before Thanksgiving

Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a house fire that killed two people Wednesday morning. There was no initial indication that working smoking detectors were in the house, officials said.

2 MD Counties Accuse Banks Of Predatory Lending To Minorities

Montgomery and Prince George's counties filed two federal lawsuits against Wells Fargo and Bank of America Tuesday for allegedly violating the federal Fair Housing Act by various predatory lending practices. The counties claim the banks knowingly sold African American and Latino borrowers non-prime mortgage loans at a higher cost, and that many of the loans were doomed to fail.

Fire Damages Sardi’s Restaurant: Officials

About 100 Montgomery County firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at a restaurant in Gaithersburg, according to officials. This was the second time in four years that a fire has torn through the building.
