Gaithersburg Woman's Body Found In Catoctin Mountain Park
The body of 21-year-old Joanna Michelle Amaya was found in Catoctin Mountain Park last week, the FBI said. Cause of death is undetermined.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — The body of 21-year-old Joanna Michelle Amaya, a Gaithersburg resident, was found in Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, MD, last week, the FBI said.
Hikers found Amaya's body off a trail in the park. A cause of death has not yet been determined, the FBI said.
The FBI said Amaya was wearing a black track suit, wrist guard, and red Nike shoes when she was found. There was also a Puma handbag and a set of keys with an El Salvador keychain.

Anyone with information about Amaya's disappearance or death is asked to call the FBI’s toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), a local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
