Clarksburg Armed Robbery Suspect Wanted: Police

Investigators released surveillance video of an armed robbery suspect in Clarksburg and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

CLARKSBURG, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the March 23 armed robbery of the Thrive Pharmacy in Clarksburg. On Monday, investigators released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Thursday, March 23 at approximately 1:00 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the Thrive Pharmacy located at 23213 Stringtown Road for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the pharmacy, announced the robbery and vaulted the pharmacy counter, police said. The suspect then confronted an employee who was behind the counter, kept his hand in his jacket pocket and demanded prescription medication and cash from the register.

The employee, who believed the suspect was armed, complied with the suspect’s demands and placed the medication and cash into a reusable shopping bag that the suspect had brought with him, police said.

The suspect then fled from the pharmacy on foot toward Frederick Road (Route 355).

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or this armed robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
