Germantown Shooting Followed Dispute In Parking Lot: Police

GERMANTOWN, MD — Two people were injured following a shooting in a Germantown parking lot Thursday night, police said.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., Montgomery County Police and fire and rescue personnel responded to the 12600 block of Grey Eagle Court for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found a 26-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his upper body and a 21-year-old female suffering from a non-life-threatening injury to her lower body, police said.

The male victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The female victim, however, was treated by first responders at the scene.

An investigation by detectives determined that the shooting was the result of an altercation in the neighborhood parking lot. According to police, the dispute involved multiple subjects, including the victims.

Authorities do not believe this incident is a random event. The investigation is ongoing.
