MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Community organizations involved in food recovery and food security can now apply for mini grants ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 to improve capacity and infrastructure of the local food recovery system. The grants also will be available for innovative and collaborative approaches to reducing food insecurity, Montgomery County officials said.
Organizations can apply independently or in collaboration with other groups. This mini-grant program will strengthen current efforts of the Montgomery County Community Food Rescue, a food recovery network of Manna Food Center. Applications are due by 7 p.m. Sept. 9.
A pre-application technical assistance conference will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Aug. 22. More information and the online application are available online.
