Decoy Museum to Celebrate 30 Years in Havre de Grace

The Havre de Grace Decoy Museum's anniversary celebration coincides with hunting and fishing vintage collectibles show.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — This weekend the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum will mark a milestone, celebrating its 30-year anniversary.

Since opening in 1986, the museum has paid tribute to the city's longstanding tradition of decoy carving and hunting water fowl. It showcases 2,700 artifacts that tell the story of the Havre de Grace waterfront. Most of the object are decoys, but there are also boats, guns, photographs and other objects.

As part of the celebration, the decoy museum will be unveiling a new exhibit.

The 30-year anniversary celebration will be at the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum, 215 Giles St. A free open house is planned to begin at 10 a.m. and run through the afternoon. A cocktail hour will start at 6:30 p.m.

The event coincides with the 10th annual Susquehanna Flats Vintage Hunting & Fishing Collectibles Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Level Volunteer Fire Company, 3633 Level Village Road. Proceeds from the show benefit the decoy museum and fire company.
