Havre de Grace Police To Provide Peaceful Environment For Protest
Police officials will actively participate in the protest on Saturday to ensure safety for residents exercise their constitutional rights.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Officials with the Havre de Grace Police Department announced Wednesday that they are aware of a protest scheduled for Saturday and plan to actively participate to provide safety for demonstrators.
The demonstration is scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Havre de Grace City Hall and Police Department. Demonstrations and protests, some of which have turned violent, have continued around the country since the police-involved death of George Floyd last week in Minneapolis.
In a post on the department’s Facebook page Wednesday, Havre de Grace police officials wrote that their participation in Saturday’s protest is to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for our citizens to exercise their constitutional rights.
