Live Fire Training in Street: PHOTOS
While crews were at training, they reportedly received a call for a fire in Darlington.
A live fire training Saturday sent flames shooting out of a house in Street.
The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company was given an opportunity to conduct the exercise at a structure in the 1200 block of Boyd Road, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, which joined in the training.
While firefighters regularly hone their skills at training facilities through simulated fires, conducting the exercises in acquired structures exposes them to types of buildings they would find in Harford County and enables them to get a sense for how construction and layout affect search and rescue, smoke and fire travel and water application.

Members who had passed their firefighter training classes were allowed to go into the structure in Street and experience what it was like to work under live fire conditions, Joppa-Magnolia reported. The fire company also sent instructors to help.
