Costco Sets Owings Mills Grand Opening Date For October

After delays the first time around, Costco has made official its new grand opening date in Owings Mills.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — The Costco in Owings Mills is opening this week. The members-only superstore will feature a deli, bakery, food court, gas station, garden center, optical department, photo center and more in Mill Station.

Previously, Costco announced plans to open in September.

The new store will open on Thursday, Oct. 18, the retailer's corporate communications department confirmed. It did not provide a reason for the delay to Patch.

The new 148,000-square-foot store has been under construction on Mill Run Circle. It is located in the area where the Owings Mills used to be in a new development called Mill Station.

On its grand opening page on Facebook, Costco posted the following in response to a question about what happened to the Sept. 20 opening date: "There were some delays and the opening date had to be moved."

It will be the only Costco on the western side of Baltimore County; the closest stores are in Elkridge in Howard County, Hanover in Anne Arundel County and Middle River in east Baltimore County.

The store will officially open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Hours will be 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday; 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
