Police said the suspected narcotics that resulted in the arrest were found by medical personnel.

After a crash on Hanover Pike near Bortner Road around 10:37 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, one of the drivers was put into the ambulance for evaluation; and when the driver was released, medical personnel found a vial containing suspected narcotics left behind.

The EMS crew notified the officer that there was a potential narcotics issue, police said.

Subsequently, authorities said the officer arrested the driver for a suspected narcotics violation and searched the driver's vehicle for any additional violations.
