Metro Subway Closed In Owings Mills, Systemwide
The Owings Mills subway and all other metro subway stations will be out of commission this weekend. Take light rail or bus instead.

BALTIMORE, MD — Those planning to take the subway from Owings Mills this weekend will need to come up with an alternate plan. The Metro SubwayLink system will be shut down for inspection and repairs from Friday, Feb. 9, to Sunday, Feb. 11.
The closure comes after an inspection of the tracks revealed the need for replacement of some sections, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
Officials were conducting a preliminary inspection of the tracks to prepare for summer track work when they noticed the need for immediate repair.

The Maryland Transit Administration advises people to take the light rail or bus system as alternatives.
Transit officials say they will reopen the subway stations as soon as possible and will give an update Sunday night.

When operational, the Metro Subway Link carries passengers from Owings Mills to Johns Hopkins Hospital, along a 15.5-mile route that takes about 30 minutes. There are 14 stations along the way, including the Owings Mills station at 5018 Painters Mill Road.
