• Maryland Makes History With Its New State Fire Marshal (patch.com) — A major statewide milestone was announced from Pikesville as Maryland named Caroll H. Spriggs II its first Black state fire marshal in the Maryland State Police's 132-year history. Spriggs will oversee statewide fire, arson, and explosives investigations and lead 85 employees enforcing Maryland's fire prevention code and coordinating public safety efforts.
