2 Firefighters Injured In Potomac House Fire
A Potomac house fire caused $650,000 worth of damage, injured two firefighters and displaced four adults.
POTOMAC, MD — Authorities are investigating a Potomac house fire that caused about $650,000 worth of damage and injured two firefighters Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out around 7:15 p.m. at 10 Lamp Post Ct., Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service Pete Piringer said. Firefighters arrived to the home with heavy fire in the rear deck that extended to the second floor and attic. The deck burned away and partially collapsed, according to Piringer.

All of the four adult occupants and pets were safe, except one cat is unaccounted for, Piringer said. The residents were displaced and two firefighters were injured. Piringer said the fire caused "significant damage."
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters will return to Fox Hills West neighborhood Thursday evening to check smoke alarms.
