Five Firefighters Treated for Injuries in Kentlands Blaze
Montgomery County authorities say the fire caused $800,000 to a house and its contents.

Five Montgomery County firefighters suffered minor injuries when part of a roof collapsed as a house in Kentlands burned Thursday.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer said none of the injuries were serious and all firefighters escaped the blaze.

Piringer said the two-alarm blaze at 113 Leekes Lot Way in Gaithersburg began in the chimney and spread to the home’s roof and wood shingles. The fire was reported about midnight.
The five injured firefighters were evaluated on site and taken to a local hospital, where they were all treated and released, he said.

A resident in the home was not injured.
The fire caused an estimated $800,000 in damages, including $600,000 in damages to the structure.
