Salisbury considers one-year moratorium on data center proposals (wboc.com) — Salisbury officials are weighing a one-year pause on new data center proposals so they can study impacts on water, power, zoning, and nearby neighborhoods before any projects advance. City leaders, business advocates, and environmental groups all want clearer rules, and the council is set to consider the moratorium at its Sept. 28 legislative meeting.
   

2. Salisbury Man Arrested for Possessing Stolen Firearm (wmdt.com) — Salisbury Police arrested 27-year-old Desmon Corbin of Salisbury after a search warrant led investigators to a loaded 9mm handgun they say he tried to throw from a residence. Corbin, who is prohibited from having firearms, now faces multiple gun and ammunition charges and is being held without bond following the Sept. 18 operation.
   

3. Trump revokes Chesapeake Bay protection executive order (wmdt.com) — From Salisbury, local advocates and officials are reacting to a Trump administration order revoking a key Chesapeake Bay protection directive, raising concerns about future water quality and funding. Environmental leaders warn the rollback could hurt farmers, watermen, and small governments, while Maryland officials stress the state's stronger clean water laws will keep bay restoration work moving forward.
   

4. Easley's Anders secures victory at Phoenix Bass Fishing League event at Lake Murray (majorleaguefishing.com) — Salisbury angler Connor Carleton made a strong showing at the Phoenix Bass Fishing League event on Lake Murray, taking fourth among co-anglers and snagging the Berkley Big Bass award with a 6-pound, 6-ounce catch. The two-day tournament in South Carolina also crowned overall boater and co-angler champions and set the field for upcoming regional and national competitions.

  • Hello, I wanted to know if Salisbury does TNR or if anyone knows any resources.
    There's a young feral colony that lives on my street and none of them are spayed or neutered. (Nextdoor Coulbourn Mill)
  • Update #2: Update: A neighbor has Cheesecake, confirmed by microchip, and the police were involved and she has to go to court to get her cat back.
    Update: Apparently she thinks a neighbor took her cat. Hoping that Animal Control can go out and get the cat scanned. That should hopefully resolve… (Nextdoor Hunting Park)
