Towsontown Spring Festival 2017: Schedule, Map, Events, Hours

This marks the 50th annual Towsontown Spring Festival.

TOWSON, MD — Downtown Towson will come alive this weekend with vendors and carnival rides, entertainers and artists, as the Towson Chamber of Commerce hosts the 50th annual Towsontown Festival.

What started 50 years ago as the Towsontown Art Exhibit in the Baltimore County Courtyard with a handful of vendors has blossomed into a grand street festival drawing approximately 250,000 visitors a year to the two-day event. The Towsontown Spring Festival is a rain-or-shine event.

More than 450 vendors will be there, selling art, jewelry and food. Carnival rides, live music and other entertainment will be on tap, plus two beer gardens and a food truck section.

The Towsontown Spring Festival is from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, and 1–6 p.m. on Sunday, May 7. It is held from York Road to Bosley Avenue and Susquehanna Avenue to Allegheny Avenue in downtown Towson. Admission is free. Parking rates around the festival will be adjusted to $5 per day.

Food Truck Lineup – New to the festival this year, a variety of gourmet food trucks will line up along Washington Avenue offering everything from local, organic cuisine to Asian and Latin-inspired dishes.

Information Stage – Opening ceremonies will kick off the festival at noon on Saturday, May 6, at this stage at the corner of Pennsylvania and Washington Avenue. Local organizations including the Towson University Dance Team, Allure Dance Group, Stoneleigh Steel Drum Band and others will perform. Before opening ceremonies, bag pipers, color guard and the Chief Musician from the Department of the Navy will perform the National Anthem.

Plaza Family Fun Area I & II – Carnival rides for all ages, including a 40-foot Ferris wheel, will be set up. Plaza Family Fun Area I is off Pennsylvania Avenue near Hamilton Bank. Plaza Family Fun Area II is at the corner of Washington and Alleghany avenues. Tickets are available for purchase at the festival.

106.1 Patriot Plaza –Between Upper Pennsylvania and Upper Chesapeake avenues, find a beer garden and live family-friendly bands including The Reagan Years, 2U, The Amish Outlaws and more. See the lineup.

100.7 The Bay Courthouse Garden — A second beer garden and more live music will be offered at the Historic Old Courthouse off Washington Avenue. Bands like Leather and Lace, Never Never, Rob Fahey and the Pieces, That’s What She Said and Crushing Day perform at this stage. See the lineup.
