1 Dead, 1 Injured After Head-On Crash In Tewksbury, Police Say
Police and emergency services responded to the scene on Andover Street shortly before 7 p.m. on Sunday to find two vehicles had collided head-on. Both drivers were transported to the hospital where one later died from their injuries.

Big Scratch-Off Winner Sold At Burlington Store
The $10,000 winning ticket was purchased at the Noria gas station and convenience store location last week. It is part of the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” instant game. The $10,000 prize is one of many available in the popular scratch ticket game, which features a range of prizes for players across the state.
Man Rescued From 'Heavy' Overnight Fire In Waltham
Firefighters responded to the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m. to the residential blaze on Circle Drive. With help from police, Waltham firefighters rescued the 47-year-old man over a ladder. After knocking down a portion of the fire, crews entered the home in an attempt to rescue a dog inside. However, the dog was found deceased. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
8 Massachusetts Children Killed By Flu This Season
An eighth child was killed by influenza this season. A total of 306 died from flu in the 2025-2026 season, according to state data. The week of Dec. 28 to Jan. 3 saw the most deaths in a seven-day period with 52, with three of those being children as well.
1 Crew Member Identified In Sinking Of MA Fishing Boat
Angel Nieves, 37, of New Bedford, has been found and identified as one missing crew member from the fishing vessel Yankee Rose that capsized and sank off the coast of Provincetown last week. Rescue personnel pulled Nieves from the water roughly 3 miles off Race Point. He was brought to MacMillan Pier in Provincetown but could not be resuscitated. The Coast Guard, Massachusetts Environmental Police and other first responders continued looking for a second man aboard the vessel until suspending the search this past Friday.
2026 Allergy Season Forecast: When Pollen Levels Will Be Bad In MA
Warmer temperatures and early spring conditions are driving an early start to high pollen levels and typical spring allergies. According to AccuWeather, temperature, rainfall, and wind are the main factors that affect how much pollen is released into the atmosphere. Massachusetts will reportedly have lower than average levels of tree pollen due to a colder start to the year and less rainfall than typical. Grass and weed pollen levels are expected to be average.
This MA Community Could Become ‘America’s Favorite Small Town’
To mark the nation’s Semiquincentennial milestone, Parade Magazine invited towns with populations under 250,000 to compete for the title of “America’s Favorite Small Towns,” and North Adams is among the 40 finalists. The selection of the 40 regional finalists comes after months of community voting. Parade’s editorial board will evaluate each community’s application and announce five regional winners. The national winner is slated to be announced in June.
