Arlington Police Caution Residents of IRS Scam
Arlington Police have reported that a resident received a scam phone call from someone claiming to be the IRS Thursday.

ARLINGTON, MA—Arlington Police are reporting that a Resident has received a scam phone call from someone claiming that they were from the IRS Thursday.
Police reported the scam via its Twitter account. Police also added that the IRS does not call individuals.
The call read, according to the Arlington Police Department's tweet:
"The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 202-445-9281. I repeat 202-445-9281. Thank you."
Capt. Richard Flynn of the Arlington Police Department told Patch that a resident had sent the information to the Police department. At this time, Police are only aware of one scam call.
