April Level 2 Doumbek Drumming Class

Do you have some prior experience with a doumbek, but want to learn more? This class will help refine what you know and challenge your skills.

We'll cover some rhythms from the Middle East and Central Asia, in both their bare forms, and with various types of rhythmic ornamentation to keep them fresh and exciting. We'll also cover the differences in rhythms, techniques, and styles across cultures. Time permitting, we will also cover the unique challenges of drumming for dancers.

This is part of a continuing cycle of doumbek drumming classes operating in 4-week segments.
