Important Dates Leading Up To Arlington's Town Election

The annual election will decide some highly contested races.

ARLINGTON, MA — The 2026 Town Election is fast approaching as residents will hit the polls on Saturday, March 28. The ballots are filled to the brim with contested races on the Select Board, School Committee, and Housing Authority. Before that important voting date at the end of the month, other election-related events are taking place that are arguably just as crucial for residents looking to cast their votes in less than two weeks.

Wednesday, March 18 is the final day to register to vote. The Town Clerk’s Office on the second floor of Town Hall at 730 Massachusetts Ave. will be open until 5 p.m. on that day for people still in need of registration. That same night, Arlington’s chapter of the League of Women Voters and Envision Arlington are hosting a Candidates’ Night in the Town Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. During the event, candidates will get to state their case for why their peers should vote for them through questions and interactions with attendees.

The final day residents can apply to vote by mail is Monday, March 23. Applications can either be dropped off at the Town Clerk’s Office or emailed.
